Oh My Web

Shopify maintenance services — someone watching your store on the days you are selling.

Shopify maintenance covers theme and app updates applied to a duplicate theme rather than the live one, a monthly audit of what your apps cost and load, a real test through checkout, speed passes on the pages that sell, and hours of actual work — from ₹4,999 / $79 a month.

Why it matters

What actually goes wrong on a Shopify store

Shopify handles the server, the security and the uptime. None of these six are that, and all six cost orders.

  • An app update moves the theme

Apps inject into your theme. One updates, a section shifts, and the first person to notice is a customer who did not buy.

  • Abandoned apps keep charging

The app you trialled eighteen months ago is still billing you and still loading a script on every page. Both cost money; only one is on the invoice.

  • Checkout scripts collide

Two apps racing on the checkout page is the most expensive kind of bug, because the failure is silent and the loss is measured in orders.

  • A theme update overwrites customisations

Every bespoke change in the live theme is at risk the moment the theme is updated in place. Which is why we never update in place.

  • The product feed drifts

Stock, price or availability out of sync with a marketplace or a shopping channel, quietly, until somebody buys something you do not have.

  • Collection pages crawl on sale day

The one day the traffic is worth something is the one day the slow page costs you the most.

The work

What we do every month

Published in full, so you can compare it against whatever else you are quoted.

Theme and app updates on a duplicate
Every update is applied to a copy of the live theme, checked, then published. Nothing is edited on the theme customers are using.
An app audit
What is installed, what it costs a month, and what it is loading on the front end. Anything doing neither is removed.
Checkout and cart tested end to end
A real test purchase through the real flow, on a phone, monthly. Automated checks do not catch a script conflict; a completed order does.
A speed pass on your top templates
Home, collection and product — the three pages nearly all your traffic sees.
Broken link and 404 sweep
Especially after a catalogue change, which is when most of them appear.
Product data sanity check
Missing images, empty descriptions, variants with no price, and anything that would embarrass you on a sale day.
Backups
Theme backed up, and product and customer data exported and stored off-platform. Shopify keeps the store; it does not keep your history for you.
A monthly report
Uptime, what changed, speed, and the hours you used. On Pro and Growth.
Plans

The same three plans, at the same prices

Store care is priced identically to website care. App updates take the place of plugin updates; nothing else changes.

Care Essential

A small catalogue that ticks along.

₹4,999 / month

$79 / month outside India

1 hour of work each month, and a 48-hour response.

Care Pro

Most chosen

A store that trades every day. The usual choice.

₹11,999 / month

$199 / month outside India

4 hours of work each month, and a 24-hour response.

Care Growth

Plus, multi-store, or a heavy campaign calendar.

₹29,999 / month

$499 / month outside India

8 hours of work each month, and a 8-hour response.

Two months free if you pay annually, extra hours at ₹1,500 / $25 in five-hour packs, cancel on 30 days’ notice. The full inclusion list and every price are published.

Sale periods

Tell us your sale dates and we agree an update freeze around them, so nothing changes on the store in the week that matters most. Before it opens we run a readiness pass — speed on the pages the campaign points at, a checkout test, and a look at the apps that will be under load.

That work comes out of your included hours.

Building as well as looking after

We also build the stores we maintain — Shopify development from ₹2,50,000 / $6,500, including migrations onto Shopify. If your store is on WooCommerce and staying there, that is ecommerce development, and the same care plans cover it.

Questions

Shopify care questions, answered

How much does Shopify website maintenance cost?

From ₹4,999 / $79 a month here, which covers theme and app updates on a duplicate theme, monitoring, the monthly checks above and an hour of real work. Most trading stores take Care Pro at ₹11,999 / $199 for four hours and a 24-hour response, because a store generates more small jobs than a brochure site does.

What is the downside of using Shopify?

You rent the platform. Fees scale with your revenue, apps add a monthly bill that nobody reviews, and unusual business logic has to be worked around rather than written. You also cannot take the store elsewhere — the theme is portable, the platform is not. For most merchants that trade is worth it.

What is the biggest problem with Shopify?

App sprawl, and it is self-inflicted rather than Shopify's fault. Every problem has an app, each app is a subscription and a script, and after two years a store is carrying a dozen of them with three actually used. It is the first thing we audit and usually the cheapest win available.

How much does Shopify take from a sale?

Two separate things. A monthly plan fee, and payment processing on each order — a percentage plus a fixed amount, varying by plan and country. There is also an extra transaction fee if you use a gateway other than Shopify Payments. Rates change, so check Shopify's current pricing rather than any agency page including this one, and be aware that apps are a third cost that does not appear in either number.

Do you support Shopify Plus?

Yes — Plus stores, B2B catalogues and multi-store setups sit on Care Growth, because they generate more work and need a faster response. If you are a high-volume Plus merchant with an in-house team, there are agencies who do nothing else, and we will say so.

Can you take over from another agency?

Yes, and most of what we onboard is exactly that. Month one is an audit — theme, apps, speed, product data — and a written list of what we found, with the urgent items fixed first. We need collaborator access to the store. We do not need the previous agency's cooperation.

Do you touch our apps' billing?

Only with your say-so. We will tell you what each app costs and what it is doing, and recommend what to cancel, but we do not remove a paid app without you approving it. App subscriptions are yours, in your account, on your card.

Find the broken checkout before your customer does.

Month one starts with an audit of the theme, the apps, the speed and the product data, and a written list of what we found.
