Oh My Web

Shopify development services — themes, apps and migrations, built to sell.

We build Shopify stores in Liquid — custom themes, app blocks, metafield architecture and checkout work — and move stores onto Shopify from WooCommerce, Magento or something bespoke. Builds start at ₹2,50,000 / $6,500 and a straightforward store takes about four weeks.

What we build

Shopify theme development, and everything around it

A store is a theme, a data model and a set of decisions about apps. Most agencies sell you the first one and leave you with the other two.

  • Liquid theme development

Built from your products and your merchandising, not a bought theme with the colours changed and four sections hidden.

  • Theme extensions and app blocks

The current way to add functionality without forking the theme, so an update does not undo six months of work.

  • Metafields and product data

The architecture underneath. Get it right and filtering, bundles and variants are configuration; get it wrong and every one of them is a custom build.

  • Shopify Plus and checkout

Checkout extensibility, scripts, B2B catalogues and multi-store setups, when the volume genuinely justifies Plus.

  • Headless storefronts

Hydrogen or Next.js in front of Shopify. Real gains at real scale, and a needless second system below it.

  • Speed work

Theme weight, image pipeline, third-party scripts and the app tags nobody removed. Usually the cheapest revenue you will buy this quarter.

Connecting the store to an ERP, an accounting system, inventory or a CRM is its own discipline and its own price band — Shopify integrations covers what that involves.

Moving in

Shopify migration services

From WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or a custom PHP store. The move is the easy half; the redirects are the half that decides whether it was worth doing.

  • Products and variants

Including options, images, SKUs, barcodes, inventory levels and every metafield you had.

  • Customers

Accounts, addresses and marketing consent state, which matters legally and is routinely dropped.

  • Orders

Historic orders for reporting and for customer service. Not always necessary, and it changes the price.

  • URLs

A 301 for every old product, collection and page. This is the part that decides whether the move costs you traffic.

  • Reviews and content

Reviews via the app you land on, blog posts and pages rebuilt in Shopify's structure.

  • Page titles and structured data

Carried across or improved, never silently regenerated by a theme.

What does not come across is anything that was custom code on the old platform: bespoke pricing rules, unusual shipping logic, a subscription engine, a members area. Those are rebuilt with Shopify apps or in the theme, and they are quoted separately once we have seen them.

We rebuild on a development store, run your real data through it, and test the checkout before anything is switched. The old store stays live until the new one is proven.

If you are moving hosts or systems more broadly rather than onto Shopify specifically, that is a website migration.

Price and timeline

From ₹2,50,000 / $6,500. At the bottom of the band: a customised theme, up to about fifty products, standard payments and shipping, four weeks.

What moves it up: Shopify Plus, a headless front end, thousands of products, B2B catalogues, and integrations into the systems you already run. Payment is 50% / 40% / 10%, and nothing launches until 90% is paid.

Every price we charge

Fewer apps, chosen on purpose

Every app is a monthly fee and a script on the front end. Twelve of them is a slow store and a subscription bill nobody reviews. We audit what is installed, remove what is doing nothing, and build small things into the theme where an app would be a recurring charge for forty lines of Liquid.

Where an app is genuinely the right answer — reviews, loyalty, subscriptions — we pick the one that behaves itself and tell you what it costs a year.

Around the build

What comes before, and what comes after

Ecommerce is a small part of our book — seven stores — so we would rather be straight about where we are strong than claim a specialism we do not have.

Should it be WooCommerce instead?

Sometimes. WooCommerce wins when the business rules are unusual, when you want no platform fee, or when the store is one part of a larger WordPress site. Shopify wins on reliability, payments and not having to think about the infrastructure. The WooCommerce side.

Where our experience actually is

Theme work, migrations and integrations, on catalogues in the tens to low thousands. If you are a high-volume Plus merchant with a team of your own, there are specialists who do nothing else, and we will say so rather than take the brief.

After launch

Store care from ₹4,999 / $79 a month — app and theme updates, monitoring, backups and hours of real work. Care Pro is the usual tier for a store that trades every day.

Questions

Shopify questions, answered

What is Shopify development?

Everything beyond signing up and picking a theme: building a Liquid theme around your products, structuring product data so merchandising is configuration rather than code, connecting the store to whatever else your business runs on, and making the front end fast enough that people finish checking out. Shopify handles hosting, payments and the platform; a developer handles the store you actually sell from.

How much does it cost to develop a Shopify store?

From ₹2,50,000 / $6,500. That end is a customised theme, a catalogue up to about fifty products, standard payments and shipping, and roughly four weeks. It goes up with the number of products, a Plus or B2B setup, a headless front end, or an integration into an ERP or accounting system — the last of those is usually the biggest single modifier.

How much does it cost to hire a Shopify developer?

For ongoing work rather than a project, ₹1,500 / $25 an hour in five-hour packs, or ₹2,000 / $40 an hour in 40-hour blocks for agencies. Most stores are better served by a care plan than by buying hours, because the recurring work — app updates, theme updates, speed — is predictable.

Can I pay someone to build my Shopify store?

Yes, and it is worth being clear about what you are buying. A cheap build is a bought theme with your logo in it, which is fine for a first store. What you are paying us for is the part that shows up later: product data that survives a redesign, a theme that takes updates without breaking, and a checkout that has been tested on a real phone on a bad connection.

Is Shopify still worth it?

For most stores under a few million in revenue, yes — the hosting, payments, security and compliance are handled, and that is a real cost you would otherwise carry. It stops being obvious when platform fees plus app subscriptions plus transaction fees exceed what running your own store would cost, or when your business logic is genuinely unusual. At that point WooCommerce or a custom build deserves a look, and we will run the numbers with you rather than defend the platform.

How long does a migration take?

Three to five weeks for a typical store. Most of it is data mapping and testing rather than the move itself, and the two things that stretch it are historic orders and a redirect map for a large catalogue. We rebuild on a development store, run the whole thing against your live data, and only then cut over.

Will I lose search traffic if I move to Shopify?

Not if the redirects are done properly, and that is the single biggest reason to have someone do it rather than run an import tool. Every old URL gets a 301 to its new home, page titles and structured data come across, and we watch Search Console for thirty days afterwards and fix what surfaces.

Do you keep working on the store afterwards?

Almost always. Stores change more than brochure sites — apps update, themes update, campaigns need landing pages — so a store care plan from ₹4,999 / $79 a month is the normal arrangement. Care Pro is the usual tier for a store, because four hours a month covers the actual rhythm of running one.
